Doug Scott

Owner

Doug has played a pivotal role in the company from its inception in 1990. As the owner of both Advantage Homes and Amwood Building Systems, Doug interacts with prospective homeowners, builders, and internal team members. Having lived in Janesville most of his life, Doug takes special interest in residential development and home planning for the prosperity of the Rock County area.

Doug enjoys meeting prospective customers to help plan and budget their new home. He also enjoys working with his team to further improve business and increase volume.

When not in the office, you can find Doug golfing, running, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife and family. He has proudly achieved many goals in life, and his one remaining goal is to effectively transition his companies to operate successfully without his daily involvement, so he can spend more time enjoying his hobbies.

A feature that Doug couldn’t live without in his dream home?
A big garage. A three-car garage is just too small sometimes. A golf net and screen in the basement would be a real nice addition, too.

Ryan White

VP of Sales & Marketing

Ryan works directly with prospects learning more about the homebuilding process. He focuses on creating a memorable experience for every homeowner and ensures each home is customized to fit its owner’s unique lifestyle needs.

Ryan’s favorite aspect of working for Advantage Homes is witnessing the progress of a job and the results of the team’s hard work. The team is always focused and it is extremely rewarding to watch all of the moving pieces come together to build a quality home.

In his free time, Ryan loves fishing and spending time on the water. He and his partner, Kristy, just welcomed a baby girl to the world and are looking forward to raising their family of four. They also have a beloved chocolate lab named Mocha.

A feature that Ryan couldn’t live without in his dream home?
Ryan and Kristy built their dream home with their local Amwood authorized Builder three years ago, and they love their full walk-out basement. This feature offers two separate levels for relaxing and entertainment and gives them a feeling of both a home and a getaway in the same space!

Chris Engstrom

VP of Construction

As VP of Construction, Chris works closely with our homeowners and construction team. He oversees our construction managers and ensures each homeowner receives high quality customer service. Chris supports our homeowners throughout the entire building process, from finalizing home plans to reviewing closing statements.

Chris’s favorite aspect of working for Advantage Homes is being able to build people’s dream homes from start to finish. He enjoys working with our internal team, skilled subcontractors, and happy homeowners.

When he’s not in the office, Chris likes to spend time with his family outdoors. He loves camping, golfing, and landscaping.

A feature that Chris couldn’t live without in his dream home?
A fireplace! He really doesn’t like cold weather.

Tina Gould

Director of Condominium & MLS Sales

Tina oversees the sales process of our condominiums. She focuses on guiding customers through the process of purchasing a new condo and her goal is to match clients with the perfect property. As a seasoned real estate professional, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Tina’s favorite part of working for Advantage Homes is the opportunity to work with a diverse group of customers and assist them in achieving their dreams of owning a new home.

In her free time, Tina is passionate about the great outdoors, often spending weekends immersed in nature, camping beneath the stars, or enjoying quality time with loved ones.

A feature that Tina couldn’t live without in her dream home?
An expansive kitchen with a generous island and double ovens. The kitchen is the heart of the home!

Gina Mouton

Director of Marketing & Customer Experience

As the Director of Marketing for Advantage and Amwood, Gina interacts with homeowners, builders, and team members in the office. She creates marketing strategies and works on building Advantage’s brand awareness. Gina can also be found out about taking photos of job sites in various stages of completion.

Gina’s favorite part of working for Advantage Homes is working with a great team of coworkers and learning more about the custom-building process.

When not in the office, Gina can be found at swim meets cheering her son as he competes in swim meets across southern WI. She also enjoys spending time with her family doing a variety of activities.

A feature that Gina couldn’t live without in her dream home?
A mud room is key here in the Midwest. Having a dedicated area to “drop” winter clothing and wet or dirty clothing is the best way to keep it from being dragged throughout the house.

Tom Downey

Construction Manager

As Construction Manager, a typical day for Tom consists of overseeing a build from drywall to close. He can be found visiting sites, attending management meetings with vendors or subcontractors, and/or engaging with homeowners to ensure each home is delivered on time.

What is Tom’s favorite aspect about working for Advantage Homes? Having the opportunity to hand over the keys to a beautiful new home to customers.

A feature that Tom couldn’t live without in his dream home?
The convenience of first-floor laundry, and an outdoor patio to spend time with his family and pet German Shepherd.

Ben Vadnais

Construction Manager

Ben is the designated Construction Manager for our single-family homes. He manages the entire building process including scheduling and directing subcontractors and reviewing builds to verify the home meets its owners expectations. He can be found visiting job sites and engaging with homeowners and subs to ensure each home is delivered on time.

His favorite aspect of working for Advantage Homes is the incredible people he interacts with daily. He also appreciates the challenge of construction!

In his free time, Ben likes to be outside, fishing.

A feature that Ben couldn’t live without in his dream home?
An extra washer and dryer inside the master walk-in closet, because life is too short to carry laundry from one room to another. Why not just put the washer and dryer where most of your laundry is stored? Plus no need for laundry baskets or hampers!

Tracy Grande

Site and Service Specialist

As Site and Service Specialist, Tracy manages all service and warranty work post close. Each day brings new items to Tracy’s attention, whether that be service and warranty related, job-site needs, and/or field work.

When you ask Tracy what he enjoys most about working for Advantage Homes, he will tell you the people.

When he is not working, Tracy can be found spending time with his family and boating.

A feature that Tracy couldn’t live without in his dream home?
Three-car garage. He would definitely appreciate this feature during our cold and long winters.

Steve Sage

Land Development Manager

As Land Development Manager, Steve works on a variety of residential development projects from inception to completion.

He truly enjoys working with his team, as everyone is professional and holds a positive attitude toward customer-driven success.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family. He also looks forward to doing more traveling as opportunities develop!

A feature that Steve couldn’t live without in his dream home?
He believes that a fully finished basement is a key aspect, as it allows for additional living area at a reasonable cost per square foot.
